6 Notes Sunday: thought experiments, sloth envy, and 50,000 photos I can't sort!
A weekly roundup of Notes worth your Sunday.
Welcome to 6 Notes Sunday. A new weekly thing I'm doing for chilled Sundays when all we want to do is skim headlines and drink coffee (or tea in my case).
It’s a format I have shamelessly nabbed from Shaan Puri’s 5 Tweet Tuesday1, but adapted for Substack (thanks Shaan!)
Here are 5 of my favourite Substack Note finds from the week, plus my own most popular one.
If any resonate, don’t forget to support the creator with a like, a restack or a comment!
Let’s get into it.
#1
What a great and unique way to assess whether you’re living a good life!
#2
This note completely resonates with me right now as I’ve just started on this journey myself, with my daily posts on Substack. Less trying to write the perfect piece of content, and more letting people get to know the person behind it.
#3
Totally jealous. All I got were blurry pics of fluffy balls!
Here’s one of mine (plus see my cheat image at the top of the post)
#4
OMG I totally empathise. I currently have 50,083 photos and 12,931 videos on my phone. (I kid you not).
Here’s what I’m trying (and failing) to do on a daily basis:
Go to the search bar in my photos and put in today’s date (no year).
Then go through and delete or sort (create albums & folders etc) all the photos from that day across the years.
If you could be disciplined enough to do that on a daily basis, within a year you’d have a completely organised photo app. At my rate I’m looking at 5 years!
#5
Ok I realise this is a note referring to my own post, but Cory’s message is key for anyone struggling with a touch of self doubt right now.
In our ensuing conversation, he made reference to the Dunning Kruger effect of competence:
The peak of Mt. Stupid remains my favorite internet era. It’s the only time in my life I possessed answers to problems I didn’t even understand. 😂
#6 - My Most Popular Note This Week
In your 50s and not even thinking of slowing down? Paid members get the full Backpack toolkit ($500+ of templates, guides and frameworks), a members-only chat where nobody thinks you’re daft for starting now, and monthly live calls where you get your questions answered and yourself unstuck. It all costs less than a questionable airport sandwich, and it lasts a good deal longer.
What did you think of today’s note choices? Let me know in the comments below!
Have a fab Sunday! 😎
