It was my daughter’s 18th this week.
It feels like only yesterday her little forlorn face watched as her little pink bike (along with the rest of our belongings), were driven away by the guy we sold them to, for us to start our nomadic adventure.
It was in fact 14 years ago!
Since that fateful day she’s been to a school in Cyprus, two in Australia, a short stint back in the UK & then spent the bulk of her childhood growing up in Thailand.
An unconventional start to life for sure.
And as an emotionally resilient, well rounded, intelligent & funny young woman I’m pretty happy with the results! 😁
So with the bulk of her international school mates having scattered to the far ends of the globe she got to spend her 18th with her unfathomably cool parents! (We also flew one of her friends in from France for a couple days).
And as we’re currently house sitting our way through the UK, we got to spend the day in one of my favourite cities in the world (and the city she wants to go to college in next year).
Speedboats & Tacos
We had a fab day starting with a speedboat trip down the Thames, followed by a Taco Treasure Hunt around Shoreditch, 2 rounds of high tech mini golf in Bank, cocktails in the Sky Garden & dinner with show songs at the Theatre Cafe Diner Shaftesbury Avenue!
We followed all of that up with a night at the Mamma Mia Party at the 02 the following evening, which by the way was fantastic!
And if you haven’t guessed that my daughter has a heavy musical lean in her life as yet, her last surprise (yet to be revealed), is the Justin Timberlake concert on Sunday night, again at the 02.
A birthday to remember for sure!
