Great advice. And for anyone who is worried about not getting hired by the youngsters at corporations and such as we age, going solo and starting something new totally bypassed the problem of HR picking a know-nothing 20 year old. Just hire yourself and start!
I'm pivoting at 66, shifting from one end of the spectrum (mega-event technology) to the opposite end (guided deep trance meditations, coaching, communities and women's circles) and resonate with everything you mentioned. Except Tiktok. It's a platform I've never bothered with and probably won't, will leave it to others, I'm quite sure it won't miss me.

You think you're invisible at 52? Just wait til you're 72 or more!
Anyway, everything you've written here is true.
I published my first picture book at 60 and have 4 more since. My agent (finally got one) is shopping around a few more.
Still, shit happens: strokes, falls, lost lifelong friendships, deaths, loved ones diagnosed with dementia, and more as time swiftly passes.
Today, I'm grateful I can walk, but I'm still here and my brain works.
Good luck with your new venture. I'm sure it will be a success.
Great to meet you Dianne, you have a very inspiring story. Congratulations on your books! π₯³
Thank you, Jo....it's been a rewarding and sometimes profitable path.
Go for it.
Just do it. Iβm sure you girls are looking good.
Iβm 63, and the only compliments I get are from kind strangers who say I look a little bit younger than my age.
One of my mates says itβs because Iβm kind and have a younger energy like my beloved daughter, and my beloved grandchildren.
Lol arrested emotionally at 14 here.

Great piece! Reinvention is def one of the most valuable skills you can have!!
I keep saying this! Donβt let age be a limitation. I transitioned into a new field and I wasnβt in my 20s. Your experience is your strength.
