Your writing jumps off the screen, and your humor could yield yet another income stream--stand-up, smart comedy. You describe places in bella Italia exactly as I've experienced them. Everything made me smile, laugh, and/or nod. Brava!
I absolutely LOVED driving the Amalfi Coast. Then again, I love terrifying drives where you are just hanging over the abyss. I've done it enough times in Greece to get used to it.
We loved the Amalfi Coast, Pompei, and Rome, BUT the sheer amount of people and traffic (as you mentioned) was enough to set my PTSD and anxiety off the charts. 😝 And even with hired tour guides to drive us around, it was highly stressful. BTW - be careful with those local guides because it's easy to get screwed by "extra fees" that were not discussed before paying them. One of our drivers tried to hold us hostage and keep us from reaching the cruise ship in time.
Overall, it's a great place to explore. Thanks for sharing your adventures, and I hope the rest of your trip is fantastic.
Thanks James, wow that sounds a bit harrowing! ☹️ We just did a big boat trip all along the coast yesterday which I would highly recommend as the way to see it all. Today we start our drive down to Sicily. 😁
Thank you for this very informative post...I have southern Italy on my radar. My family roots are based in a small town about an hour inland from Naples as well as in northern Sicily. Eager to hear more!
I loved reading about your adventures! Thanks for the tips!
Thank you Jj! 😊
