Why It Feels Like You're Pedaling Hard But Going Nowhere
& what to do to start gaining momentum...
There are 8760 hours in a year, 168 in a week & 24 in a day.
These are not malleable numbers. We all get exactly the same.
So how is it some people seem to achieve so much, but no matter how hard you work, it seems like you make little progress?
The answer my friend lies in knowing your priorities.
High performers have figured out the tasks & projects that will have the biggest impact & create the most momentum.
If you're spinning your wheels, it's likely you're working on the wrong things.
Brendon Burchard in his book High Performance Habits calls it your Five Major Moves.
What are the biggest projects you should be working on to move your business forward rather than being busy for busy sake?

What are Your Five Major Moves?
Start by identifying the main projects in your business/side hustle;
1. What do you dream about achieving?
Perhaps you want to be a best selling author, grow a profitable blog or build a successful business on Etsy or Amazon.
Determine your main goal or goals, so you're crystal clear on what it is you want to achieve.
2. If there were only five major moves to make each goal happen, what would they be?
Every business model has many moving parts, but generally there are only a few big levers that have the most impact.
A couple of great examples is starting your own website or building an email list.
Most people I chat to spend weeks building a pretty site & learning how to use wordpress or web themes. Or they focus their efforts on creating logo designs, headers or beautiful landing pages.
While these are admirable tasks they’re not the main things.
The goal is to get a ton of traffic to your website and build a huge list of email subscribers.
This means your main things are to create and publish a lot of high quality content over a consistent period of time, which sends traffic to your site or encourages people to sign up to your newsletter.

3. Who can you interview or study to identify the most important levers?
If you're not sure what your most important levers are, look at what other people in your niche are doing.
Most successful people these days openly discuss their journeys, either in posts, books or podcast interviews.
Here's Justin Welsh's sharing his 22 step plan for how he went from Zero to $7.5m in revenue, as an example.
His five major moves were to;
Consistently publish valuable content - He's been posting every single day on LinkedIn, then X for over 5 years
Create a course that resonated with his audience (after listening to feedback to his content)
Add ‘raving fan’ affiliates to increase sales
Create more content channels, plus a newsletter
Diversify monetisation strategies (create more courses, newsletter sponsorship, affiliate sales)
Prioritise Your Time
Once you've identified your main projects, you need to prioritize your time to focus on them as much as possible.
What can you stop or limit doing to give you more time to work on the most impactful tasks?
And if you know what you should be doing, but still aren't doing it, it might be time for some honest self-reflection.
Procrastination often creeps in when we're not wholeheartedly engaged with our dreams and underlying fears and doubts paralyze us from moving forward.
It's rarely laziness or lack of discipline. It's usually a sign something more is going on. So review your goals and ensure you're connected with the core of what you want to achieve and why it matters to you.
Become a Focused Action Taker
Whether you're a high action hustler or just getting started, having a clear plan of the most impactful moves you need to make to achieve your goals, will ensure you're prioritizing the right things.
By focusing intently on the few key projects that really matter, you can break free from the cycle of busywork and channel your energy into deliberate, purposeful action.
Stay the course, commit to your goals and don't get distracted. Success is just round the corner.
