It all started in 2010, when my husband and I left the UK with our four-year-old daughter and a vague plan to build an online business while seeing the world. Within a year, we'd hit six figures online and were bouncing between Cyprus, the UK, and Australia. (read my full story here).
When our daughter needed a more settled base for school, we chose Phuket, having travelled and stayed there many times before. But âsettledâ is a relative term. We kept exploring, visiting 45+ countries, building businesses along the way, including a seven-figure Amazon FBA brand we sold in 2020.
Now our daughterâs graduated and blazing her own trail studying music in London, and the worldâs wide open again. This time with decades of experience, financial freedom, and zero school schedules to work around.
I started The 50+ Nomad because the travel and online business world is obsessed with twenty-somethings in Bali. But what about the rest of us? The ones with a bit more wisdom, a different pace, and no interest in hustle culture or performative laptop photos?
We want comfort and curiosity. Freedom with purpose. Projects we enjoy, not pressure to perform. And connection, to people, places, and ourselves.
